Apple technology is developing long-range wireless charger for iOS devices
According to the information provided on the Bloomberg, Apple is developing wireless charging technology with partners in the US and Asia, and can be commercialized on a sample iPhone launched in 2017. This new technology will allow iPhone and iPad wireless charging from a distance instead of having to put on the charging cradle and charging solutions from other properties as today.
Of course, Apple is facing many technological barriers when applying this type of wireless charging is the most serious that the power loss with distance means the distance between the device and the adapter is not the time to fully charged battery will longer.
Whether Apple has a solution for this or not is still unclear, but according to sources, Apple is still on the analysis of solutions to guide deployment of this technology. Wireless charging been rumored to appear on the iPhone 7 generations of this year but Apple certainly will not be able to keep doing it but at the earliest by 2017.
Apple has paid a lot of records of patent protection related to wireless charging technology. In 2010, they submitted a dossier suggesting an iMac-type device with integrated wireless charging hub for iOS devices within 1m around the device.
Currently Apple Watch also owns technology for wireless charging, but it is completely different from the above-mentioned long-range technology for Apple Watch was forced to contact with the cradle to receive similar power charging technology wireless that Android manufacturers are adopting for years.
